PLEASE help...its gay as crap

Okay so check it out..i have my bedroom next to the garage and i have located an access point from the garage. (a tiny hole in the ceiling). so i dont normally eat food in my room i knew the one time i saw them they would no longer come back due to the cleanliness of my room. anyway the ants were never really a problem until i open my Armoire (closet like furniture piece) and inside are atleast a few dozen ants just crawling around. i dont eat in my room and i sure as hell dont eat inside my armoire? so i look around do some excavating and weirdest thing...they were attacking and living inside my SEALED packages of index cards. what the hell??? anyway i knew this problem wouldnt persist longer...because i removed the index cards (duh) anyway. a month goes by....4:00 i grab my xbox off of my dresser like normal...7:00 returned to put my xbox back and found hundreds upon hundreds of sugar ants on the dresser. there were so many. my dresser is on the other side of my room to the access point mentioned earlier. they had crawled from the action point to my dresser on top of the ceiling...i DONT HAVE FOOD THERE. so i get rid of them all but they keep coming and coming. finally i just removed every item off of my dresser until i came upon my I am Legend CD crawling with ants. i opened it up and an entire colony fell into one of my dresser drawers. im talking millions of ants, with eggs and the works all inside and around my I Am Legend CD. i dont eat inside there? i dont secretly hide food in there? i dont have food anywhere near my dresser???!??!? what the hell is happening and how do i get rid of these ants. please help
hey thanks so much, ive been looking for the last 30 minutes on different stuff to try. i just found another colony inside the little crease on my dresser where the top of the dresser connects to the wooden frame. this is so irritating. ive been looking into boric acid and/or sodium bicarbonate so i can kill off the entire area. thanks ill look for home defense

I am buying a new this month. It has an ant problem. I don't much about ants but they are small brown ants. An inspector told us they were carpenter ants but another one stated they weren't. Both say they are harmless.

My mom tells me I should get a pro to get rid of the ants. My dad is telling me just to buy some stuff at Home Depot and spray the hell out of the house with some quality stuff.

Need some advice.

I have been getting the sweet ants in my kitchen and laundry room, I figured out they're coming from the attic, they are coming through ceiling light fixtures, vents, the attic door. The attic is filled with insulation and can not get up there, and there would be no where to put ant bait. I have tried Terro, spent around 25 bucks, on outdoor Terro spray and 20 Terro ant baits, put them all over the house, been over 2 weeks, said it works in 3-7 days, there are no ants even near it. I put mixture of Terro liquid ant bait and honey and spread it where they're coming in through the light fixtures. Nothing yet. Any other ideas??? Thanks!

Carpenter Ant Control?

We have had a carpenter ant problem in the ceiling of our summer mobile home for several years. The area is inaccessible to locate the nest.

I...

We have had a carpenter ant problem in the ceiling of our summer mobile home for several years. The area is inaccessible to locate the nest.

I have found that drilling several holes in the ceiling (the size of the can) and forcing a bug bomb can tightly into the hole seems successful and the problem disappears for a couple years.

They were back this summer and I didn't notice until now. I seldom see them in the house, but just found lots of sawdust in my closets. My question is, now that the weather is cooler and they seem less active, will the insecticide be effective if they are hibernating? Is it a waste of money and should I wait until Spring when they become more active?

The bombs seem very effective when I use them, just not sure if they work if they are hibernating.

Help!
Please note, the only access I have between the ceiling and the roof is the1-1/2 hole I have drilled for the bombs. I'm not sure if/how I could place bait in there without enlarging the hole. I really don't want to make the hole larger. This is a problem that has been on-going for many years and I suspect will continue because of our location on a saltwater bay (damp). So far the annual bombing has kept them away, but I missed the summer bombing this year.

Any suggestions for getting bait in there would also be welcomed!

Thanks for all the help :)!
