A couple weeks ago, my Task Force 20in. 12A Mower (not battery powered) shut off while I was mowing my lawn, triggering the outlet's Ground Fault protection (I think), and it won't start again. When I plug it in, sparks briefly come out of the end of the extension cord and it shorts out again. If I turn off the outlet from the breaker box, plug in the mower, then turn the outlet back on, it makes a buzzing noise for a half second and shuts off the outlet. However, sometimes this only happens after I turn on the power switch. I think it could be something wrong with the power switch, but I'm not sure. I unscrewed it and looked inside, and there is a white wire that goes directly from the cord that connects to the extension cord, to the cord that goes out to the motor, seemingly bypassing the actual power switch, so I don't know if it's the switch or the motor that's shorting out. Any ideas?

I have a John Deere LX188 17 hp. The engine spins fine but has no spark. Can the ignitor be bad or should I look elsewhere.
