My house is 50 years old and the previous owner, (don't ask me) had carpet in the master bathroom. Well the floor around the toilet has water damage from what the contractor said was a bad toilet seal, which left the wood around the toilet in rough shape. I want to rip out and install a new tile floor in the restroom but I dread to imagine that I would have to also replace the subfloor under the tiled enclosed standup shower. Can I get away with just repairing and replacing the subfloor in the restroom but leave the shower subfloor alone? Please help!?!?!?

We are retiling our master shower. We don't have any more of the tile (beige 12x12) that was used on our floor, and we are thinking of using a darker (earthy brown/stone) tile or travertine for the shower. I am just worried that it will look wierd when I am finished.

Does anyone have a picture that shows an example of using darker shower tile with lighter floor tile that looks good?

I recently removed a carpet from one of my bedrooms. Since the carpet was installed using a carpet tacking approach, I now have holes and chips where the carpet tacking used to be. There was no easy way to remove the carpet tacking without damaging the terrazzo floor where it was installed. Is there a SIMPLE approach (or any other approach other then hiring a flooring company) to fill the holes left behind by the carpet tacking that will be at least a close match to the terrazzo design?

India - Replacing ceramic bathroom tile over tile?

Hi

Hi
My bathroom in India, (apt) has the 4 inch white ceramic tile on the walls and the 8 inch white tile on the floor. Is there a way to replace these Tiles without the hassle of actually removing them with a hammer and chisel.
The floor tiles seem to get dirty fast and at times changes color from white to pale yellow. The bldg maintenance says to mix acid with water and pour on the floor tiles, it comes out sparkling white but it seems to take out some of the grouting.

I would just like to change the color of the floor and wall tiles to something else. Is it possible.

Or is there something to color over the white wall tiles to make it look good to match the new flooring tiles.

The floor tiles if hammer and chisel has to be used as the only way, i dont mind. But the wall tiles are many and goes upto 3/4 of the walls.
Some kind of a tile design to put on these tiles to match the floor tiles.
Appreciate any suggestions please.
Thank you for your reply.
Does the bathroom enamel wash off if water goes on it or when it is wiped.

Can anyone tell that it is enamel instead of tile, or does it blend in.

I can't for the life of me figure out how to change the blade. There is no button to lock the blade like a cirular saw. I have tried holding the blade still with vise grips and turning the nut holding the blade. I even tried turning the nut the opposite way in case they are reverse threads. I also tried to hold the metal washer and blade in place and the bolt just keeps turning.
