Do you think a home security system is worth the monthy monitoring fee?

How much would you typically pay for a system and for monthy monitoring?

Totally worth it. Mine costs about $55 every quarter. Protection One will give you the system for free if your house is rewired free with a 2 year contract. It comes standard with windows, 2 doors and 2 motion detectors, but they will let you make substitutions like if you have pets you can change the motion detectors for something else (like other doors). It comes with 1 keypad but it is totally worth it to pay the extra 30 or so dollars for a remote key bob. You have local monitoring so it takes mere minutes for a response and the system has a panic button, fire alert, police alert and monitors the smoke detectors.

Depends on where you live and what you stand to lose if it's worth it.
Cost for a good one is about $40 - $50 per month.

If your area is high in crime, it would be best to have a security system. Better safe than never. Also if you have big property, it will be very much worth it. I think they have DIYs, you can check out BodyGuardx on Google.
