I think it depends on what degree you want to get. You can start off with a BLA - Bachelor of Landscape Architecture or a BSLA - Bachelor of Science in Landscape Architecture degree. These degree programs usually require four or five years of study in art, design, history, construction techniques, natural and social sciences. After this,you can pursue a Master's degree in Landscape Architecture.

Landscape Architects are required to be licensed or registered in most states.
