Default mice problem...can you help??

ok, so yuck. I moved into my home a year ago and it is a new home, built in 2005. I am a neat freak and keep a maticulous house, but recently I noticed mice droppings! Gross! I don't know why they came or how, but I need help.
I bought those "no see" mouse traps, and I have used peanut butter and cheese to no avail. No mice are taking the bait. I hear them and see the evidence of them and I am going nuts. Before I call an exterminator, I want to try and resolve it myself. My question is: do the mice pellets work? And my concern is that if they eat the poison and die, won't they stink to high heaven? What if they are in the walls and I can't remove the carcass? Help please!!! Thank you!

So I had this issue also. They will die and yes it can smell if you dont find them. I actually bought this electronic that sends some sort of wave to keep the mice away. It really works. I havent seen a drop since. I have also used the sticky pads in the meantime but found it so sad when they were stuck and couldnt get loose which I know is the whole point. But worse, if youre by yourself you actually have to move the sticky pad with the mouse on it by yourself!!! Not fun, but it does work. Hope this helps.

A professional should be able to trap it for you.
